Written by an Operator Who Has Sat Where You're Sitting
Most "best HVAC coaching programs" articles are written by content teams at marketing agencies who have never run a truck, never made payroll, and never sat across from a technician who wants a raise you can't afford yet.
Leonard started his first HVAC company from scratch in 1993, built it and a second company into multimillion-dollar operations, and sold both. Along the way he has evaluated peer groups, hired coaches, turned down coaches, and watched which programs actually changed a company's numbers and which ones produced a binder and a T-shirt.
This page exists because owners deserve a comparison built from that vantage point — not from a keyword list. Every program below is real, active, and described using its own public materials. Where a claim could not be verified, it is marked as such. Nobody paid to be on this list, and JordanWORX is not affiliated with any organization named here.

How to Read This Table — Especially the Pricing Column
Notice the pattern. Ten of eleven outside organizations do not publish a price. That is not an accident, and it is worth naming before you get on a call with any of them.
- "Request a quote" usually means the price flexes to what you seem able to pay. That is a normal sales practice — just walk in knowing it, not finding it out.
- A published price, like Service Nation's, is a meaningfully different kind of trust signal than a "schedule a call" button. It costs the organization nothing to publish a floor price if they are confident in their value.
- Third-party estimates are estimates, not facts. The Nexstar range above comes from outside industry sources, not from Nexstar. Treat any number you did not get directly from the organization as a starting point for a conversation, not a budget line.
- Ask the same three questions of everyone on this list, including JordanWORX: What is the total cost for twelve months, all in? What is the commitment term and how do I exit? At the end, what will physically exist in my business that does not exist today?
A Closer Look at a Few That Deserve One
The table above is the fast version. A few of these programs are different enough in structure that they're worth a second look before you rule them in or out.
Nexstar Network — the deepest bench
The largest, best-resourced option here: 800+ member companies, 40+ full-time coaches, and a training library most owners couldn't build alone in a decade. The tradeoff is that the material is standardized across hundreds of companies — you still have to find the time to adapt it and implement it in yours. Notably, members report no signed contract is required.
BDR — the numbers-first shop
BDR leans hardest into financial benchmarking of anyone on this list, reviewing hundreds of member P&Ls monthly to show you exactly where you sit against the field. If your instinct is "show me the data," BDR is built for that instinct specifically.
PRAXIS S-10 — the true 1:1 model outside JordanWORX
Of every network on this list, PRAXIS is structured closest to an implementation partnership: lifetime one-on-one mentoring from active contractors rather than a group curriculum. If a 1:1 model is what you want but our approach isn't the right fit, this is where we'd point you next.
Lightning Path Partners — a different category entirely
This one doesn't belong in a coaching comparison, strictly speaking — it's a growth-equity firm that buys a minority stake in your company in exchange for capital and operational muscle. It's worth knowing about if you're at $1M–$20M and open to selling equity, but it solves a different problem than a coaching membership does, and confusing the two is exactly the kind of mistake a listicle written by non-operators makes.
Five Questions That Actually Sort These Programs
Skip the marketing copy on every one of these websites and ask these instead — of them, and of us.
- Did the person coaching me own one? Not consult for one. Not work at one. Sign the payroll, carry the debt, answer the phone at 2 a.m. — own one.
- Am I buying a curriculum or a build? A network gives you material and a community; you still do the implementation. An implementation partner builds it into your business directly.
- What is the real commitment term? Some programs run month to month. Others lock you into a year or more. Get this in writing before you sign, not after.
- Is this priced for my size, or am I subsidizing someone bigger? A program built for $10M companies can be the wrong tool — and the wrong price — for a $700K shop, even if the coaching is excellent.
- What will exist in my business when this is over that doesn't exist today? If the honest answer is "notes and knowledge," you bought advice. If it's a working price book, a written pay plan, and a trained team, you bought a build.
Where JordanWORX Fits — and Where It Doesn't
JordanWORX is not the right fit for every owner on this page's audience, and pretending otherwise would make this list worthless.
Consider JordanWORX if…
- You already know what needs to change and just haven't had the hours to build it
- You want one experienced operator working your actual numbers, not a curriculum built for hundreds of companies
- You'd rather have the systems installed and your team trained than another login and a to-do list
Consider a network instead if…
- You want peer benchmarking against hundreds of similar companies
- You have the bandwidth to implement material yourself
- Vendor rebates and buying power matter to your bottom line
Thirty minutes with Leonard, no pitch deck. Tell him where you're stuck. If the honest answer is "join Nexstar" or "you don't need to hire anyone at all," he'll tell you that instead. That answer is free either way.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best HVAC business coaching program?
There is no single best program — there is a best fit for your stage and your problem. Owners who want peer benchmarking and a proven curriculum tend to do well with a network like Nexstar or BDR. Owners who want sales-only training look to a program like ContractorSelling. Owners who are out of time, not out of ideas, and need the systems physically built in their business tend to need an implementation partner instead of a curriculum. Ask what you are actually buying — advice, a community, or a finished system — before you compare price.
How much does HVAC business coaching cost?
Almost nobody in this category publishes a number. As of August 2026, most of the organizations in the table above do not list pricing on their websites and require a call to get a quote. The one figure we could independently verify is Service Nation's Roundtable membership, which starts at $99 per month. Third-party estimates for higher-touch programs like Nexstar commonly cite figures in the $1,000 to $2,500-per-month range, but that is an estimate from outside sources, not a published price — confirm the real number before you sign anything.
What is the difference between a coaching network and an implementation partner?
A network or membership — Nexstar, BDR, EGIA, Service Nation — gives you a curriculum, a community, and benchmarking data, and you do the building yourself, on top of running your company. An implementation partner works the systems into your business directly — the price book, the pay plans, the dispatch rules — so it survives your busy season instead of stalling the week you get slammed. Neither model is wrong. They solve different problems.
Is Lightning Path Partners an HVAC coaching program?
Not in the traditional sense. Lightning Path Partners is a growth-equity firm — it takes a minority ownership stake (reported at roughly 20 to 50 percent) in home service companies and pairs capital with operational and marketing support. It is closer to a co-ownership partnership than a coaching membership, and it is aimed at established companies in the $1M to $20M range, not owners looking for a monthly coaching call.
