✘ What We Refused to Repeat
- The two enormous technician shortage figures — neither traces to an original study
- "Industry standard" gross margin and overhead percentages with no disclosed methodology
- Service agreement retention rates and business valuation multiples sourced only from firms selling those services
- HVAC-specific cost-per-lead figures — no credible independent source exists
- Technician spiff and commission percentages presented as benchmarks
- SEO timeline promises — Google publishes none
Why This Matters to You
If a number in your sales presentation cannot be sourced, it is a liability at a kitchen table. If a benchmark in your business plan cannot be sourced, it is a decision built on sand. We would rather hand you a smaller number you can defend than a bigger one you cannot.
